The Coburn Gallery is Ashland University's primary venue for viewing visual art created by the faculty and students in the Art + Design Department and guest artists. The gallery focuses on the work of nationally known contemporary artists, as well as Ashland University art faculty and students. Each year the schedule includes:

• Fall semester exhibitions that feature works of artists around the country and specific themes
• A Faculty Exhibition, featuring the work of Ashland University faculty members
• A Student Exhibition, juried by an outside juror with awards for outstanding work
• A Senior Exhibition, featuring the work of graduating seniors
• The Ashland Exhibition, a juried summer event displaying the work of area artists
