Program Overview

In Ashland University’s Finance program, you’ll gain skills that employers prize: auditing, coding, analytics, investing, risk management and corporate finance. You’ll also gain real-world investing experience by participating in the Eagle Investment Group, where you’ll invest $2 million of the university’s endowment and earn Bloomberg Market Concepts certification. Then you’ll graduate ready to take the Chartered Financial Analyst, Certified Financial Planner and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority exams.

Curriculum

In the Finance program, you can choose the track that aligns with your career goals:

Asset Management Track

The Asset Management track is for students seeking a career in financial planning or a related field. The courses provide the knowledge to prepare for the Certified Financial Planner designation and the National Association of Securities Dealers exams.

Corporate Finance Track

The Corporate Finance track prepares you to provide strategic leadership and projections to companies, assist in mergers and acquisitions or offer financial analytics services. It’s perfect for students interested in earning the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Dean's Scholarship

The Dean's Scholarship was created to enhance the undergraduate academic experience for new first-time and transfer students enrolled in the Accounting, Finance and Sport Management programs.

Benefits of this scholarship include a merit-based, renewable award of $1,500 that stacks upon other merit awards received. Recipients will also gain the opportunity to join unique academic communities that promote engagement with faculty and focus on career coaching and preparation.

The application consists of a formal essay and interview. To qualify, applicants must be admitted to one of the approved programs with a cumulative, high-school or transfer GPA of 3.5. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years with a GPA of 3.0. The review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until all scholarships have been awarded. The deadline for priority consideration is March 1.
